About Our School

The school has a staff of four mainstream teachers, including the Principal, a learning support teacher, a special needs assistants, a part-time secretary and caretaker. 104 pupils are attending the school currently.

The school boasts a very active Parents Association who, in addition to their many fundraising activities, has set up a school garden in conjunction with the Irish Seed Savers in Scarriff and the pupils of the school. The Parents Association also supported the school under the Writers in School Scheme this year, inviting the author Cora Harrison to visit the school and speak to the children about her life as a writer, giving tips as to how they might become writers themselves, some day.

The pupils of Ogonnelloe NS are encouraged to respect themselves, respect others and respect the environment and to be proud ambassadors of their county, Clare.
